The Waterer/Spiers collection – One of the museums original aims is ‘to encourage good craftsmanship and design in leather, and interest in its use’. Every year since 1978, the museum has commissioned or purchased a new piece of contemporary leatherwork. The Waterer/Spiers collection augments and in a small way, provides continuity for the historical collections of the museum.

The Museum of Leathercraft library contains in excess of 2000 books, periodicals, slides, photographs and other leather related material.
