The collection of the Museum of Leathercraft is undoubtedly one of the finest in existence. Currently, although a small proportion of it is on display in the Abington Museum, Northampton, the vast majority is held in store and thus not easily accessible.
The Trustees of the Museum have developed plans to rectify this situation and give the collection the status and profile it deserves.
The vision is to build a multi-million pound centre which will not only allow a much larger percentage of the collection to be on open display but will also provide a focus for the leather industry in Britain and overseas.
