Museum Of Leathercraft

One of the museums original aims is ‘to encourage good craftsmanship and design in leather, and interest in its use’. Every year since 1978, the museum has commissioned or purchased a new piece of contemporary leatherwork. The Waterer/Spiers collection augments and in a small way, provides continuity for the historical collections of the museum.

Some of the most recent aquistions are from Whittaker Malem, Bill Amberg, Georgina Goodman and this year four exciting jewellery designers Tania Clarke Hall, Amma Gyan, Tanya Igic and Kate Sheridan all producing quite different designs, showing diverse skills.
