Even if you are not sure what you would like to do, please contact us for a chat. We may be able to find the perfect role for you
The type of work we are doing is all about knowing what we own – Its like Christmas every day. Opening boxes, unwrapping objects and discovering treasures!
Building on this we are photographing and then completing digital collection records for each item.
We have websites, Facebook pages and Twitter feeds to be maintained too.
Starting with the objects we are also pursuing primary research on our collections – so if you are curious about industrial leather gaskets or 16th century book bindings or a multitude of topics in between…. including snooker cue tips and Renaissance caskets! We might have just the rewarding challenge for you.
Moving forward we have BIG plans over the next four years to take the Museum to the public. From schools programs to lectures and devising exhibitions we would love to hear from emerging Museums professionals keen to get their first taste of the industry, or indeed anyone with a curious mind and flair for engaging with others.
Of course this all costs money so if your talents lie in fundraising, PR or events management then we need your help too! Or indeed if you simply have plenty of money and need it to go to a worthwhile charity we would be extremely happy to help you spend it in the interests of celebrating leather and great craftsmanship.
